Day Out at Penzance
Saturday, 29th September

A day organised by the local history group at the Morrab Library as part of the Morrab's Bi-Centenary celebrations.

The day will begin with a talk on the making of Penzance from the 13 century to 1800 by Dr Joanne Mattingly.

That will be followed by a presentation on Tourism from 1800 to 1950 by Linda Gamidge.

There will be a lunch served in the Jenner room including pasties, saffronbuns and fruit. The lunch is kindly being provided by the Tanner Trust as part of the bi-centenary celebrations.

After lunch members will have a chance to choose among three events -- a walk around town with Linda Gamidge, or a visit to Penlee House museum with Jenny Dearlove, or a guided tour of the Morrab library with former head librarian Annabell Read.

The day will end with tea and a chance to explore the Morrab a bit more.

Deadline for booking is 22 September.
